Very Good
Slap FightSlap Fight
Notes: Slap Fight will woo you in with a West Coast-style malt bill, but slaps you across the face with its tropical hop profile. Light in body, heavy in character, this IPA features Munich and Crystal pale malts for a clean, rich mouthfeel. Comet, Equinox and Mosaic hops lend a pungent herbal aroma, peppered with hints of papaya, orange and grapefruit. Present this beer to a friend. If he does not drink it immediately, slap him as hard as you can. Repeat.

Tasty first try from this brewer...

I guess I'm starting off the year going with IPAs, saving my stouts for later in the weekend. This one was solid enough. Good looking beer with a good, juicy smell, and it was sessionable as well. Definitely something to have on hand for when the spring and summer rolls around...

I'm trying this at the Water Tower Taproom in Montgomery, Alabama. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had nice citrus presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit peel notes. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Can has stamped best by date of '12/01/2018'.
Slightly cloudy, pale gold colored body. One finger white head, dissipates to thin islands and ring. Leaves behind a spotty and oily coating of lacing.
Heavy hops in the aroma - lots of orange.
Taste has the citrus hops, along with a touch of dank hops. Mostly sweet at first but quite a bit more bitter at the end.
Medium mouth feel. Lots of tongue burn with each sip. Good carbonation.
The can lists the descriptive terms of "FRESH DANK JUICY", and these descriptors show up through the taste profile. This beer is not real bitter, but the dank does show up, and overall it is juicy.

Aroma: oranges, pineapple, some earthy resin, faint bready malt.
Taste: as expected, with bright and juicy citrus fruit. A nice herbal undercurrent and a restrained but balanced malt presence.
Feel: medium-bodied and carbonated - appropriate for style.
Overall: a nice easy-drinking "juicy" IPA.

Had this beer at the Airport in Atlanta, I was so surprised to have this quality of beer in the airport. Atlanta has come a long way. Well done! If you can trade for one, do it....solid performance

Had at on tap. Overall a "solid" IPA. Nice balance with a nice finish. The lower-ish ABV makes it a decent candidate for a session type IPA. Good hop profile and good flavor at all temperatures.

Pours a brilliant sun golden yellow with a touch of a light orange hue and a finger of off-white foam.

Tropical and citrusy notes of mango, pineapple, and grapefruit are prevalent, with a slight toasty malt sweetness.

Toasty and biscuity malt sweetness provides the perfect amount of balance and allows the sticky and resinous tropical and citrusy hop flavors to shine.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, very well balanced.

Overall, I purchased this on a recommendation from a liquor store owner while traveling through Atlanta and he hit it right on the nose with this one. I wish we could get this in the Chicagoland area as it would easily become a fridge regular of mine.

L- Staw colored, nice thick foamy head that sticks around for a while. Bubbly .
S-Sweet, earthy and hoppy. I get notes of Mango, and papaya. This beer is faint.
T- The taste is peppery with slight hops first off. A bit watery, but the flavor is very well balanced. I also get a punch of citrus, and also an earthy undertow.
F-Rich and crisp. Nice hearty body that is very fresh.
O- Good IPA. It's defiantly more mellow than expected hence the name. Like I said, a good ipa that was enjoyable to drink. Give er a try.

Pours a semi clear deep straw/pale gold producing 4 fingers of frothy/soapy, lasting, slightly off-white head that leaves webs & splotches of clumpy lace. Aroma is herbal, tropical fruit, grapefruit & orange with an unbalanced note of pale malt. Taste is a hop forward blend of tropical fruit, citrus flesh & pith, & herbal notes with a hint of resinous pine. The sweet pale malt is there but takes a back seat to the forceful hop profile. Bittering by mid-sip it finishes with a peppery spice & increased bitterness that rapidly transitions to a dominant & lingering bitter citrus pith aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, juciy & silky through mid-sip where a peppery prickle comes in, intensifying in the finish & dry aftertaste.

Light copper in color and very hazy. Heavy lacing. The aroma is of tropical pineapple and mango. I taste citrus hops with a sharp but not overpowering hop bite. Light malt is also detectable in the back of the palate. The mouth is lightly sticky and resinous.

Pleasantly surprised with this beer. Wasn't expecting much, but I found it to be very aromatic and well balanced. On the nose, mostly tropical fruit, some citrus and a decent amount of honey-suckle. Taste follows the nose; however, at 5.8% ABV it drinks more like a session beer; very refreshing though. Light-medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. Overall, pretty decent, I would have it again if I want to drink an IPA that is on the lighter side.

Deep orange with a thick white head and decent lacing. Aromas are soft. Notes of citrus, white bread, resinous hop, light pine and a bit of earthy dank. Lower end of medium body, crisp, nice bite of carbonation smooths nicely by the finish. Feels a bit more substantial than 5.8%. Decently done IPA, smooth easy drinking hoppy experience.

Look - 4.25 – pale gold in color, inch thick white head. Almost no lacing in the side of the glass besides little circle specks.
Smell – 4.25 -Strong citrus hop smells, especially grapefruit. Very little malt smell.
Taste – 4.25 – Strong citrus hop bitterness, the pine flavor is crisp and refreshing. Just like the smell, little malt presence in the taste.
Feel- 4 – Medium bodied and great level of carbonation to make this brew light feeling over the pallet.
Overall- 4.25 – Great IPA if you like a nice bitterness to your brew without drinking down a 6-7% ABV beer. Lots of great bitterness, little malt flavor, crisp citrus and pine makes for a beer I would buy again and I'm glad I got in a sixer this week.

Pours hazy and golden orange. Decent white head. Smells tropical and fruity. West coast style is right out front. Tropical fruits are the theme here. Tastes like it smells. Nice and medium body with a tangy fruity finish. Best beer I've had by Monday night by far. Another great beer Atlanta has to offer to addition the list.

Reminds me of Tropicalia without the delicious juicy fruit notes. Body and Feel are its best qualities IMO. Readily available in ATL which is a plus. By far the best brew of any kind from MNB I've had.

Finally, a beer worthy of a review from Monday Night. This is by far the best session IPA out of Georgia. Every bit as good as Pinner from Oscar Blues which has been my go to lately. Really dank hop profile and lovely carbonation. Body is on the light side but it's less than 6% so who gives a shit. I hope this is the start of something good from MNB because this one is a winner.

12oz can from Sherlock's (Marietta, GA). 8.99/ 6 pack. Canned 3/29/16. Served in a Monday Night snifter.

Pours a hazy, pale orange with a finger and a half of white head and some noticeable turbidity. The froth fades to a lumpy, milky surface haze and a narrow, fluffy brim that leaves a few widely spaces spots of lace.

Smells of dank hops, mild citrus and a little bready malt. Not terribly complicated but it is actually quite nice.

Flavor opens up with a surprisingly hearty bite of dank, bitter hops. That onion/ garlic dankness gives way to overripe orange, citrus peel and bready malt. The combination of fairly strong flavor and no discernible alcohol make this an easy brew to drink.

Body is rather light with moderate carbonation. Finish is like dank, mildly citrusy, bitter hop bread.

Monday Night has definitely upped their IPA game with Slap Fight. It is a bit stronger than the currently popular session IPAs flooding the market but chock full of flavor and aroma. It may not be my favorite IPA but I like this more than Monday Night's other hoppy offerings and will likely return to Slap Fight for an easy occasional warm weather hop fix.

Tried this a few days ago and enjoyed it a lot. Thinking I was just desperately thirsty and/or in a good mood (I don't typically like Monday Night beers), I'm trying it again tonight. It's pretty great. Monday Night is back on my radar.

Definitely heavy on Mosaic, this reminds me of a tamed/session-able version of Tree House Bright. If you like dank & fruity hops, find some.

Boring, body-less, soul-less IPA. Nothing interesting, juicy or complex about this beer in any regard. People rating this high are homers for MNB- if you live in GA, there is no reason to ever drink this before Tropicalia, Jai Alai, Two hearted, Orpheus the Rites, Didjits, etc. Bad reviews below.
