Just in time for Monday Night's 2018 Prom, Mischief Managed is the first in our series of Berliner Weisses. This version is aged in Sauvignon blanc barrels on raspberries. Tart, crisp and clean, this ruby-hued Berliner Weiss is refreshingly dry. Berliner Weiss yeasts are notorious for causing mischief in the beer if not managed correctly, so we kept this beer in the Room of Requirement at the Garage for months. A light, easy sipper at 4.5% ABV, pair it with pomme frites, an arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette, or a white pizza.

On draft at Loosa Brews. Larger pour definitely brings out a white grape barrel presence. Tart, mildly musty, tannic dryness in the finish. Raspberry presence comparable to cranberry.

Had this at Brickstore's 21st Anniversary event, and poured into a MNB branded chalice. Appearance was bright red, with present carbonation; almost like a brightly colored red wine. Aroma was extremely pleasant and well balanced, with strong hints of raspberries and lemon. Taste was fantastically well balanced, with the raspberry and barrel notes balancing the usual lemon/greek yogurt Berliner flavors perfectly. Definitely one of the best Berliner Weisses I've had recently, and one that I hope to have again soon.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 11.99. 2018 vintage, just released in the past couple weeks. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 3/22/18.
Pours a deep reddish pink with an initial two fingers of pink head. The bubbles crackle away quickly, leaving a thin collar but little else to call lacing.
Smells of raspberry purée, wine and wet oak.
Tastes sharply sour. Tart raspberries, white wine, traces of wet wood, faint pale grain. Delicious.
Light body with ample carbonation. Lingering sour finish with raspberry and wine barrel.
Monday Night is taking Berliner weisse to a whole new level. Significantly more complex than most berliners. Puckering and fruity with some pleasing wine barrel overtones.

Pours a hazy pink with minimal head.
Smell is tart raspberry with faint hints of the barrel.
Taste follows, very tart raspberry that hits the jawls a bit.
Light to medium bodied.
Overall an enjoyable Berliner.
