It's our Bourbon-Barrel Aged Drafty Kilt, but with more stuff in it. This small-batch version is inspired by the classic Italian dessert, tiramisu.

BEST BY 11/25/21.
Appearance: Pours a clear, dark brown body with an inch of creamyish, off-white foam.
Smell: Espresso-scented, bourbony brown sugar, a little chocolate and toasty-scented liquid breadcrusts backed by a modest level of dark fruitiness.
Taste: Sweet, soundly bready, even toasty with tastes of coffee and chocolate. Ultra smooth bourbony character shows some oaken, lightly tannin barrel hints, a splash of vanilla. Its flavors roll around the mouth until you land at the gentle, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Subdued carbonation.
Overall: I'd had a few of these one-off'd Drafty Kilt offerings before, and, to be honest, they were all mostly duds, coming nowhere even close to the original. This, however, was pretty solid. Nicely aromatic, flavorful additions, not painfully sugary like so many beers these days and the wee heavy underneath wasn't entirely drowned out.

Nailed the nose with notes of fudge and rich, vanilla-laced coffee. The mouthfeel could be fuller (a problem Monday Night is famous for), but a lightly smoky base plays well with that tiramisu-inspired sweetness. Finishes with lingering coffee & barrel.

500mL bottle picked up at the brewery. Released 11/2018. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 12/29/18.
Pours deep chestnut with a robust beige head. Retention aplenty- a silky sheet, fluffy perimeter and huge curtains of lace.
Smells predominantly of coffee, bourbon and caramel. There are some more subtleties present like faint char, cereal and wet wood but those initial notes pervade.
Taste follows the nose. Coffee, caramel, oaky bourbon, faint bread pudding, cereal grain, and a little vague vanilla cream. The alcohol is barely perceptible behind all that flavor.
Smooth medium feel with gentle carbonation. The coffee, caramel and bourbon in the finish definitely give the impression of tiramisu.
Monday Night introduces coffee to their barrel aged Drafty Kilt to delicious effect. Glad they did these variants this year.
