Slam Dunk is our orange creamsicle-inspired IPA. It's a milkshake IPA that's not a milkshake IPA. Smooth, slightly sweet, this 7.2% ABV beer is also loaded to the brim with vanilla and orange. A team of citrusy hops add aroma and depth. Slam Dunk goes hard in the paint. Artwork by Atlanta's own Eric Nine. NOTE: Contains lactose

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, orange-yellow body with an inch or so of steadily evaporating, whitish foam. Moderate lacing on the way down.

Smell: Tropical-minded nose, a bit melony with some slight gooseberry in the back and a hint of citrus oil and vanilla. Some maltiness in the background, implying a cushion of smooth oats and wheat.

Taste: Bready, honey-tinged malts with some creamy wheat and oat accents. Medium sweetness. More fruity touches of melon, g-berry, light pineapple and citrus. Medium-plus bitterness. Minimal vanilla character, and, even with the inclusion of creamy oats, wheat as well as lactose, doesn't really come close whatsoever to exhibiting much of a milkshake feel.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: So-so. For me, I have to really squint to even catch a glint of creamsicle. I will say, though, that milkshake IPA's often flop at displaying a milkshake quality and fail at being an IPA. At least this didn't feel too far removed from its IPA namesake.

16oz can poured into a glass very light orange color very little head that dissipates quickly nose is very heavy with orange
mouthfeel had none of the creaminess you would expect in a milkshake IPA flavor was once again very heavy orange with just a hint of hop after taste you do get the lactic acid on your tongue overall i was a bit disappointed Monday Night usually delivers

16oz can from Target (Woodstock, GA). 12.99/ 4 pack. Canned 2/6/19. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 2/22/19.

Pours a brilliant, clear gold with a thick foamy white cap. The head never quite fully settles, leaving an island of froth, fluffy crown and copious lace.

Smells of orange juice, sweet cream, tropical fruit-laden cake and citrus punch.

Taste follows the nose. Tons of orangey citrus, tropical melon, vanilla cream, caramel, pineapple and some slight grapefruit.

Smooth, creamy feel with relatively light carbonation. Pleasant bittersweet hoppy orange creamsicle lingers in the finish.

Monday Night found another tasty way to deliver hops. I’m still forming my opinion on milkshake IPAs but Slam Dunk works for me.

This brew has a light brassy body to it that's topped off with a creamy off white head.
The aroma is intensely sweet like orange lollipops, and vanilla ice cream.
The flavor is as sweet as the nose, along with some caramel cow tails and a satisfying bite on the ass end.
The mouthfeel is light with moderate carbonation.
Overall a fantastic job by the brew wizards at Monday Night.
