A: This one pours as expected: pitch black with plenty of lacing after swirling it around, very thin head given the abv.
S: Honey, barrel, faint apple or peach. Wow.
T: The flavor is honey-forward. Dark rich chocolate is present all throughout. The apple brandy is also there. Vanilla, marshmallow. Incredible.
M: Fluffy smooth and thick but not oily. A lot like Goose Island's BCBS.
O: This is incredible, especially for the price. But I don't even need to mention how much it costs, because the brewery could really charge a lot more if they wanted to. This stout is such a treat. It has a unique flavor, while sticking to the classic BA stout profile. The apple brandy and honey adds something special, and I'd bet it's hard to find another beer out there with those same flavors that does it as well as this one. One of my new favorites.
