Tie 9 on is an expression of the most exquisite barrel-aged beers we have in our wood cellar. Brewmaster Peter Kiley and Wood Cellar Manager Tim McDonnell hand selected 19 unique barrels consisting of 9 different base beers. This array of decadence was united together with a 50/50 mix of Madagascar and Ugandan vanilla beans.

Pours black at least in the dark of the winter small dark tan head not much lace.
Aroma is not to strong for a 13% definite vanilla beans, light roasted malts , light bourbon notes , hints of rum and coconut dark fruits all blended together nothing really over powering each other just smooth goodness.
Taste is the same smooth goodness that's in the nose, mostly stout like but some lighter notes even at 13% hard to explain but might be the perfect starter for big beers as nothing is overpowered if anything dominates its the vanilla but even that is kept in balance. Alcohol isn't even an issue as many strong ales its expected a little burn but not here.
Mouthfeel is smooth and only approaching full which is weird as its a big beer. Carbonation is so smooth.
Overall not sure what this is kind of like a watered down stout but strong as hell , even though its smooth as silk. Not really old ale as most of them have a expected alcohol notes. This is just smooth goodness what ever it may be.
