Appearance: Deep, dark brown, fluffy off-white head, good retention
Aroma: Dark roasted malt, bourbon, wood and faint vanilla. Mild alcohol.
Flavor & Aftertaste: Roasted malt, cocoa, bourbon, and wood. Alcohol noticeable. Moderately sweet.
Mouth-feel: Full bodied, heavy nearing mouth-coating. Low palate carbonation. Noticeably warming from alcohol. Lengthy finish.
Overall: This was Blend No. 3, bottle in 2020. It will probably be better with at least 12 months to smooth it out. It's dark and viscous, nearing mouth-coating but not sticky. Roasted malt, bourbon and wood flavors on a sweet malt backbone. Alcohol is noticeable and warming as it goes down. It's a little rough around the edges, but aging should smooth it out some. Solid Bourbon Barrel Aged beer.
