A German-style Marzen, this lager boasts a robust malt bill with notes of toasted Bavarian pretzel and biscuits. To nail the essence of Oktoberfest, we used two noble German hops: Tettnang and Hallertau. The complementing German malt bill features Pilsner, Vienna, Munich and Caramunich. The result is a subtle hop bitterness that’s clean and balanced on the palate. Lederhosen and dirndls are highly encouraged, though not required for consumption.

Subdued malt, slightly bitter and sweet. Flavor notes are good but could be stronger and more bold.

September 2023. Very watery. I want to suck a nonalcoholic beer not much flavor better everything you’re not looking for in a Marzen—at least not what I am looking for. Very thin and watery. Feel on the pallet. I would stick with the traditional in German sourced Marian. This just is extremely disappointing.

Appearance: Clear light amber to copper color. Fluffy white head with moderate retention.

Aroma: Toasted malt, spicy/herbal hops

Flavor: Toasty and spicy. Medium sweetness. Low bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied. Moderate length dry finish.

Overall: Made with Pilsner, Vienna, Munich and Caramunich malt. Tettnang and Hallertau hops. Well made Marzen. Head retention is a little lacking on this sample. Good malt complexity and balance between sweet and bitter. Avoids heavy, overly sweet profile. Nicely done.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden-amber body with a medium-small, off-white head.

Smell: A toasted grainy, biscuity element with a dried herbal, black tea-like hop twinge.

Taste: Toasted biscuity malts though yielding minimal malt sweetness when in washes a black tea flavor and a touch of bitterness from the herbalesque hop character. Its taste of chilled black tea dosed with one solitary Sugar in the Raw packet is sustained through the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Could certainly use some tweaks - I do appreciate the biscuit quality but could use some slight malt richness, complexity. It's just a bit thin, a bit lacking in its composition and I did it no favors by having it right after a superior German Oktoberfest offering to highlight the shortcomings found within.
