Ask any chef and they’ll tell you that the proper levels Salt and Pepper are essential in finishing any dish. So why not in a beer?
Chef Series: Ford Fry is a Salt & Pepper Pilsner, developed in partnership with the Atlanta-based, award-winning chef, restaurateur and visionary. Using Barke Pilsner malt and Tettnanger hops, this beer is brewed with a mash decoction, which amplifies the malt-driven quality of a classic Pilsner, balanced by the kick of black pepper (supplied by Telicherry and Aranya peppercorns) and Maldon salt. A crushable 4.7% ABV, the salt and pepper are present but subtle, delivering a beer engineered to complement great food, whether it’s a cold-water oyster or brisket from the smoker.

Appearance: Dispenses a reasonably clear, yellow-hued body. Slim, white head.
Smell: Crisp, crackery saltine-hinted maltiness and salinity with a light scent of black peppercorn.
Taste: Pils malt, minimally sweet with an ultra faint hint of gently toasted grains. A noted slight salinity like a salt-dosed Modelo Especial at the beach. Has a spiciness at first seemingly akin to some herbal-minded hops, but it lingers long enough and pulls in a little earthy heat to be deemed pepper.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It'll do.
