Appearance: An amber brown, caramel color with a firm, lightly tinted foam and a soft pearl.

Nose: A warm bouquet of caramel and fig with tones of coffee. Subtle tones of orange and freshly ground black pepper.

Taste: The Maranello begins in the mouth with the generous flavor of caramel, but soon adds nice tones of dark chocolate. The freshness comes from the juicy tones of white grapes and fresh figs in combination with a spontaneous touch of orange. Subsequently, subtle, botanical flavors like black pepper and licorice surround the whole.

Beer poured from bottle into an non-stemmed tulip glass.

A - Beer poured with a dark amber colored body; perfectly formed 1-2 finger size head, white in color; made the beer look very healthy and full of character and life; the head of the beer held well; the body of the beer was well carbonated and clear; a moderate amount of lacing formed on the side of the glass

S - Dark malt scent; roasted nuts and caramel notes touched off with a pleasant aroma of corn and wheat; some sugar and orange peel; spice

T - Heavy dark malt flavor; crisp corn taste, that washes away rather quickly; somewhat nutty and nice mixture of wheat and grains to compliment the rich fibrous characteristics of the beer; slight caramel touch; touch of spice flavor hits the front of the tongue

M - Fluffy; crisp taste and a dry finish; slightly bitter and tangy; thin body

D - Made from authentic corn straight from the Maranello (Modena/Bologna) region (as claimed by the company website) of Italy; I found this beer to be full of lager scents and clean finish; a bit harsh to consume, but overall, a notch above average for a lager
