Formerly known as Rye Keller, this kellerbier is brewed with local danko rye malt. Expect malty, sweet, and subtly spicy flavors, with a medium body and lightly bitter finish. Like all of our kellerbiers, Private Rye is left unfiltered.

Growler filled on Friday, enjoyed on Sunday. Hazy (not haaaazzeee), cloudy golden bronze body that looks wonderful in the light. Literally hoisted the full glass up to the ceiling light like Rafiki lifting newborn Simba above the entire animal kingdom so that all his subjects could bask in the majesty of the moment.
Bow down, Zwickelbiers, and meet your prince!
Aroma is doughy, bready malt, toasted wheat cracker, peppery and earthy spice followed by more dough. Bread City, USA - population: me.
Taste is right there - doughy, bready, toasted malts, spicy hops, touch of bitterness - without any of that lingering metallic taste you sometime encounter with the style. Clean and crisp, like a shower beer sans the shower.
Ends with a crisp snap and a quick bitter peck on the cheek to say farewell. Wonderful beer.
