Draft at the brewery
Big creamy thick frothy darker head fades at a med pace, decent retention, little lacing, jet black beer with nice legs
Nose loads of dark malts and barrel, though super dark roasty black malts, coffee notes, thick dark chocolate and cocoa with big vanilla barrel and heavy wood, very fruity too, dark fruits like brandy raisin, little nougat and caramel, faint cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, and somehow some honey in there
Taste super rich as well, similar to the nose, thick syrupy heavy malts, dark roasty but not acrid, dark cocoa fudgey, dark syrupy chocolate fudge and caramel fluffy nougat, candy notes, again more fruits, dark brandy soaked raisins and little plum wine, touch of pepper somewhere in the back and some cinnamon as it warms, mild wood, some vanilla barrel and toasted oak, flash of bourbon, flash of alcohol on the back end, sticky sweet finish, lack of barrel is the only thing preventing this from being higher, honey in the taste too as it warms
Mouth is thick heavy full bod bit syrupy, touch of alcohol, decent carb
Overall this was very good, great nose had basically everything, taste was almost there except barrel characters were a bit too light, otherwise awesome beer
