Shipping out of Boston celebrated the rich and storied manufacturing history of New England. We built this beer with local ingredients inspired by the factories that were once world suppliers. It is a malty, sweet, and lightly hoppy amber lager that pays homage to the past, while manufacturing a bold future.

16oz canned on 06/03/2020. Sample from the brewery.
Clear, bright, amber, with lively carbonation and a frothy head that laces down the glass. Soft aroma of dark bread, caramel, toasted grains, and earth. Mouthfeel is super creamy, smooth, and a bit chewy, but it's light on the palate with a crisp carbonation. Layers of malty goodness with plenty of toasty malts, caramel, brown sugar, honey, and graham cracker. A bit fruity in the middle with some dark grape. Sweet, but not cloying. And there's just a kiss of hoppy bitterness to keep the malty profile in check with some grassiness and rind. Bread crust and herbal notes linger in a semi-sweet finish.
Not gonna lie. I almost cried when I first tried this beer. Shipping Out of Boston is a throwback to when brewers didn't give a shit about chasing trends and brewed some amazing malt-forward beers. This is a world-class Amber Lager.

From a 16oz can dated 03/26/26 (assuming canned on) into a mug.
Pours a translucent reddish brown with maybe one finger of off white head. Meh retention and a little bit of lacing.
Nice aromas of caramel, earth and sweet bread.
Taste follows. Great malty backbone to this one. Very light bitterness.
Full-bodied, medium carbonation.
This is a solid beer. Maybe what Yuengling Lager wants to be when it grows up.

Mostly clear somewhat burnt caramel in color with a medium thick off white head. Nose is toasted caramel. Taste also caramel and then a bitterness hits like toasted grains.

This lager pours a transparent reddish amber with a mostly white head. The aroma is minimal, but malty. The taste is malt sweetness, with similarities to German festbier/märzen. Unfortunately there's also a chemical taste present that's very distracting and throughout the sip. The mouthfeel is clean. If the flavor was better, this could easily be outstanding.

A nice amber lager with a bit of a hoppy bite. Very good example of the style, it's just not the most interesting style. Fills in when craving a regular beer with a sweeter malt presence.

Pours a clear amber hue topped with a noff-white head that holds well. The aroma delivers exactly what you'd hope for—rich notes of toasted malt, caramel, and fresh-baked bread. Malt-forward taste with a balanced touch of hoppy bitterness. Smooth and easy to drink.

Pours a crystal clear copper color with a sudsy light tan head that lingers a while. Beautiful amber lager.
The nose features rich caramel and toffee notes, and there’s a bit of floral hops as well. The taste is very centered on the caramel and toffee flavors, but it’s the subtle floral hop flavor that provides balance and elevates this delicious amber lager.
The mouthfeel is medium and a bit Dr, adding to the drinkability. An excellent amber lager, IMHO.
