I really appreciate what JA is trying to do here but just can't get behind it for this beer. I love English brown ales, so an American version is always a bit of a disappointment with its increased hops and lack of nuttiness. But rhe real issue is how thin this beer is. I'd much rather stick with a 4-5% version and have some more body to it.

Canned 2020/11/17
Pours an offwhite fizzy smaller 1/2 finger head with med retention, fair spotty lacing, dark hazy deep brown color
Nose brings lots of dark brown malts, a little roasty but lots of toasted brown malts, some cocoa, caramel, toffee, biscuity toffee and nutty, I wouldn't even know this is a low alc beer, a hint of caramel-butterscotch candy
Taste brings more brown malts, toasted biscuity toffee, caramel, a bit of a coffee note with a little roast, nutty, nice caramelized brown bread crust, toasted grains, hint of spicy hop bitterness, drier finish, a touch of herbal spicy hop on the finish, more roast and nutty coffee
Mouth is med to lighter bod, med foamy carb
Overall this was quite nice, a solid brown ale that I wouldn't have even known it was 2.5% if they didn't tell me.

Pours clear, dark brown in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is dark bread and toasted malt. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet. Very good for the style. Easy one to throw back. Been a while since I have had such a clean beer.
