Ancient timelines talk of dark days, plagued by hardships and Kingdom demands. When hope was all but lost, a legend emerged. A plumber. With copper pipes and an uncanny wit, he battled fierce foes and saw to the brewery’s opening. Our Octoberfest is malty, smooth and exceedingly drinkable. It is perfect to celebrate and honor today’s legends. We use locally grown wheat from MA, Munich malt and noble hops.

Nice crisp carbonation. Malt with lite Sweetness and lite bitterness on the back of the tongue. Color is a hazy golden hue. A solid lager.

This checks most of the boxes for me to be a repeat customer. Classic Marzen flavors are present across the board: honey and caramel sweetness with balance provided by a floral and earthy hop bite. Carbonation trends toward being lively and prickly. Body is surprisingly thin reducing feel. This is unusual for a JA beer, their beers have always had perfect density, but not in this case. Still, this is a minor complaint and overall Copper Legend is very enjoyable and I'll have it again next season.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Willi Becher Glass
the beer pours a slightly hazy amber/copper color with about three fingers worth of foamy white head that slowly recedes leaving behind very little lacing
The aroma is bready and slightly toasty with a nice caramel sweetness. There is also a nice hint of herbal hops.
Like the aroma, the flavor is bready and toasty, with a caramel sweetness (just on the cusp of being too sweet), and a mild herbal hop presence. Medium/light bodied and mildly carbonated, with a slightly dry finish.
overall the beer is good, but seems to be missing something that could push it to that next level

On draught, copper in color, a bit lacking in clarity. Head retention and carbonation is low, very little lacing. Body is medium/low.
Flavor is malty, a touch of caramelized barley sweetness, well balanced with the mild hops bitterness. Sits well on the tongue, smooth finish.
An enjoyable and refreshing Marzen.
Also very good from a can.

Clear, copper color. Big, white head. Caramel malt , grain, and grass in the aroma. Well-balanced, malty taste with moderate bitterness. A good one!

CANNED .JA 08/10/24. Print is jumbled and hard to read. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Mildly hazy light copper with 1-finger light yellow-beige head with below average retention and no lacing despite a freshly washed glass.
S: Light intensity aroma overall with light caramel, breadiness, and bread crust with even light herbal noble hop note.
T: Lighter take on the style with light-medium caramel, pils malt breadiness, and slightly cloying sweetness in the back end. Low bitterness without much hop character.
M: Feel is solid with light-medium body, lowish carbonation, and full finish with slightly cloying thick malt character.
O: Kind of a disappointment given my opinion of other JA beers. Light in appearance, aroma, and flavor. Needs a reboot.

L-Copper color but lacks clarity..
S-Light toasted malt...lightly spicy...
T-Malt flavor is subdued but enjoyable....light toasted malts. Light caramel notes...a light sweetness....I like it
F-Seems a little muddied up....not super clean...has that yeasty goodness I also find enjoyable in their house lager..
O-Don't get me wrong...this is a decent beer but my expectations for a Jack's Abby Oktoberfest were sky high and this falls well short of those expectations. It's fine. Not great.

Clear winner at our blind-tasting of New England Oktoberfests. 1st choice for 8/15 testers who appreciated its crisp mouthfeel, refreshing taste, golden color and drink-all-night lightness.

Jack's Abby Copper Legend Oktoberfest can with dinner at a restaurant in early October, 2024. The can boasts imported ingredients and decoction brewing. Chilled can poured into a sham pilsner glass. Amber body with a modest light tan head that fades fairly fast. Taste disappoints. The body is surprisingly thin, and the OK flavors don't make a big impression. From dim memory, I'd compare this to Yuengling Lager. This falls way short of the Brooklyn Fest Maerzen that I had last week.
