Dark Tunnel Amber Bock "A true bock brewed with a touch of molasses"
Into a tulip glass it pours with a big two finger head of tan foam. This is fleeting, as it falls after the first sip, though there's actually some lacing in the glass. Color is adeep burnt umber with scarlet red highlights when held to the light. It looks very nice for a Bock.
Spiced apple aroma, multigrain bread, something floral, vaguely autumnal like potpourri.
Some apple esters, nutty almond (more than the almond ale, odd), nice maltiness here, with the advertised hint of molasses showing through. A slight hint of alcohol, though it tastes pretty good in general. Mouthfeel is a bit too thin though, fizzy and astringent, needs to be smoother and more robust. Overall this is one of the better beers from Whistle Stop/Woodman Brewery, though some of them could use a little fine tuning.
