i believe the correct name on this one was "girl stout cookie" not scout cookie, but i might have been drunk. you have to like this sort of thing, the real sweet adjunct dominated dessert stouts on the edge of gimmicky, but if you do, this one is pretty solid, and it really does taste a whole lot like the cookie itself, bright fresh peppermint and sweet milk chocolate. the nose is crazy of this shiny slick black brew, its all cocoa and mint, really like crushed up thin mints, i wonder if they made this with real cookies? it looks thick for its modest abv, lots of sugar left in this, but i like it being lower alcohol, i can drink the whole thing and just be diabetic instead of diabetic and smeared. subtle vanilla and licorice here, some nice dark roasted grain keeping it somewhat beery, and a really smooth feel, under carbonated and heavy, but not greasy or sticky or anything like these sometimes get. not too much mint either, its the exact right amount, just like the cookie, they got that part dialed in. i couldnt drink more than one of these, but i definitely appreciate its likeness to the cookie. better than other attempts at it out there for sure. my first beer from exit 6.
