New England style in that it’s slightly juicy, but decidedly more bitter. Pretty good example, interesting play on the usual IPA balance.

Pours golden and cloudy, can't see fingers on other side of glass, but not milky. Good head retention and lacing. Flavorful citrus aroma and good mouth feel. Excellent example of an NEIPA.

16oz can dated 7/17/17.

Pours cloudy gold with decent retention and a moderate head. Aromatics are fairly tropical but less than pungent. Peach, grapefruit, and candied pear. Medium bodied with some silkiness to the mouthfeel. Unripe citrus with a faint hint of pine and garlic on the palate. Finishes with lingering grapefruit pith, pine, and a hint of white grapes.

Tasty beer and not a bad "juice fix". Stronger aromatics would make a big difference.

Cloudy but not milky. Green hued gold color. The head starts large but settles quickly. Similarly, the lace starts plentiful but ceases to exist at the bottom of the glass.

Malty aroma with just a touch of balancing hop bitterness. I get a bit of cardboard as well.

Flavor: Brief, neutral pale malt start. Green hop bite comes quickly and strongly. Body leans thin with a moderate carbonation level. Long aftertaste of hop pellet bitterness.

Grapefruit pith, lemon, tangerine and melon. Cracker malt profile. Light and delicate. Perfect level of sweetness. Semi dry finish makes me keep coming back for more. Wouldn't exactly call it NE style, but that's a good thing for me. This is nicely balanced, easy drinking. Solid.

Gotta say I had a hard time figuring out the name of this beer. "Allston" is not the only text on their Escher-like artwork. I had to go to their Twitter feed to see someone explain that the name of their new NEIPA is Allston. Questionable marketing if you ask me.

Pours a cloudy , vibrant orange gold color with a 2 finger head that settles down to a nice silk blanket.

Aroma is slightly sweet but somewhat malty, maybe some biscuit in there. I was expecting a nice floral tropical hop aroma but I'm not even sure what the hop character is - maybe some lemon/citrus and stone fruit?. Not a good start for a NEIPA.

Taste has a backbone of smooth, sweet malt but the hop flavor is (again) a little confusing. Maybe citrus and stone fruit. There is also a grain flavor lingering around. The finish is a lemony bitterness that is not too endearing.

Feel is smooth with I would guess oated flakes. Moderate bitterness, low effervescence.

Well, I don't feel like this beer meets the criteria of NEIPA. The hops aren't even up front. I guess if they can add enough flaked oats to get the beer cloudy and smooth then they feel it is good enough. Not for me - I want a more floral/tropical aroma and taste and a little less bitterness and no biscuity taste. I feel a little cheated here. Good thing I was allowed to buy one beer at the local packing store. Please note that this is not a bad beer, rather I feel they missed their mark.
