A: Dark, expected for a porter. Head is brown and creamy. Good lacing.
S: Smells strongly of a spicy rye bourbon with hints of dark chocolate and licorice coming through.
T: Flavor starts strongly with bourbon, followed by a mellow alcohol. Towards the end, the chocolate comes through sharply, ending with a bit of a subdued malty flavor rounding it out.
M: Body is heavy and creamy. A velvety richness hangs on the tongue, and it leaves a lingering residual heaviness in the mouth.
O: For a porter, it runs a bit heavy. However, the addition of the bourbon barrel aging balances out the heavy mouthfeel, resulting in a enjoyable experience. It works well as a desert beer due to the chocolaty nature of the beer, or would pair well with a heavy beef steak.

Brown and black pour, thin tan head. Aroma was heavy on the roast, milder on the vanilla and bourbon.
Taste wasn't bad, being a porter it allowed some stuff to come out, vanilla, oak, chocolate, bourbon. Heat in check. Body, not too thin, sometimes a problem w porters gettin barrel aged. A tad warm, but hey, what did you expect?
