Bottled on date 7/15/15. A strange tartness accompanies this so called cocoa porter. A bit on the fruity side lacking any kind of roasted malts or bittersweet chocolate.

This is a rock solid Cocoa Porter!
Good mouth feel, the color is bang on, and a head that's very appropriate for it's style.
The cocoa is subtle, but present. The roastyness wasn't overdone, and if I recall correctly it didn't finish out all that dry, but not all that sweet either. Very pleasant on the tongue.
Bitterness was about right for the style. They didn't way over do it, like most breweries here in the Pacific northwest. If you're a porter or stout person, you will more than likely very much enjoy this brew.

22 oz bottle bought from a Walgreens store, of all places, in Salem OR $4.99 Pours the darkest possible mahogany colour with a nice looking thick and creamy lighter tan head. Weird aroma though..Swiss Miss and a certain fruitiness. The fruitiness is in the taste and also some liquorice, ash and coffee, strange but it calms down a bit in the end. The mouth feel is OK medium thick low carbonation. A strange one that is hard to place..its OK but i wonder if this beer had been left out unrefridgerated and in the light at Walgreens too long If i can get it at a better beer place will try again.

Had this on Tap at the brewery. According to the brewer this is an English style porter with 2 diff. Kinds of Chocolate (cocoa) added. It drinks very smooth, has nice ruby hues with a nice black body. Overall a great beer to have and a great (small, but great) place to Have a bRew.
