"Portland and Dublin share both a rainy forecast and strong beer tradition. Celtic Rain is an homage to the Irish Lager, fueled by precipitation and traditional ingredients."

Don't remember the beers from this brewery specifically as it has been a number of years since we were there. But I do remember there was not an even an average one in the beers I tried. All were very good.

Look: Crystal clear and copper in the glass with a busy head that puckers away to a lid and leaves nice lacing behind

Aroma: Cereal grains, light floral hop notes, soda crackers, and wafts of freshly baked biscuits

Taste: Whoa – the is bringing much more flavor than I got in the nose. Waves of crackers, biscuits, bread, and grains kick it off and remind me somewhat of a Kellerbier as they deepen. Floral hops trickle in throughout and blend harmoniously as the malt train keeps the reigns through the close

Mouthfeel: Full but light, very clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish

Overall: This is some good stuff. I try everything these folks make and wanted to try this when I first spotted it a few weeks back so finally scored some. My nose could be off today but this smelled like a simple American Lager – even a light lager or AAL but don’t be fooled – it’s tasty. It reminds me of sort of an Irish Lager, like Harp, meets a Kellerbier (read: more flavorful) and it all comes together in a well-made, quaffable package. Check it out
