Maibock is a strong German lager style brewed for the spring. Ours is an easy-drinking, refreshing example of the style with a very slight sweetness and moderate alcohol finish.

Occidental's take on this style is very good. In fact, there take on all German style beers is excellent, and this one is no exception.

another delicious traditional style from these guys, this time a nice pale bock, cereal forward with good depth but also high drinkabililty, about what i expected, everything they do is great. gorgeous in the glass, a rich golden color with immaculate clarity and well over an inch of airy and frothy white head, ring lace on every sip and just what one of these should look like. the nose is a little muted to me, minerals, honey, and toasted white bread, with just a little sweetness and a bit of the german lager yeast evident, clean and mineral forward as well, crisp even with some sugar. the flavor is a sort of well refined grain broth to me, an english element to it as well as german, bready but not heavy, and clean on the finish, with layers of almond nuttiness and light toffee sweetness, enough herbal hops at the end for some balance, and the yeast does a nice job drying out the finish. drinkable for the style, expertly crafted and refined, perhaps just a tad mellow in flavor compared to some, but this is excellent beer. i am dying to check out the brewery when i am out that way next month, i have become a huge fan! this is killer warm weather bock.

Look: Crystal clear light orange with a white head that builds and quickly settles to a film, leaving good lacing on the glass
Aroma: Whoa. Freshly baked bread, raw sourdough starter, floral notes, lightly toasted bread crust, and wafts of pilsner malt
Taste: Bread, dough, and flowers combine forces and lead the taste charge. Layers of bready depth throughout – bread, toasted bread, wafts of baking bread, and raw dough. Flowers shine throughout as well and closes with more bready notes of course
Mouthfeel: Full but fairly light feeling, ridiculously clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and somewhat crisp but soft on the finish
Overall: This is really stinking good. I love these folks’ take on German beer styles and was pumped to hear they had canned up a Maibock as that style is an annual spring treat and I can report, they have made an awesome one. A perfect marriage of bready malt and floral hops with a killer mouthfeel and looks stunning in the glass to boot. There is no way this beer drinks as easy as it does at 7%, but it does. Highly recommended

Stunningly clear light amber beer, for a Maibock a bit on the light side, but beautiful anyway. Thin head, fades fast to a wispy lace. Bread yeast aroma. Taste is very nice, rich and malty with controlled bitterness. Clean after taste. This one goes down very, very easily. Watch out for the 7% ABV. Highly recommended.

Canned 18 Mar , purchased at Saraveza.
Clear light orange with a dense off-white head that falls off rapidly leaving little lacing, this looks solid. The nose is a sweet dough, mildly honey like with light toffee, a mild earthy bitterness, a touch of mint and lemon. The malt here seems a little rough around the edges. The palate opens a little sweet and with a prominent bitterness. There's earth, mint, and the combination of alcohol and lemon lends a light spicy note. The mid palate is a little sweet, paradoxically a little too much and yet not enough. It has a moderate sugary sweetness, but not the grainy, breast sweet depth that the better maibocks have. Alcohol is a little noticeable on the finish, lending a bitterness. Medium light in body a d softly carbonated, this feels solid on the palate. A good Maibock but this is not one of the best.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Nothing too exceptional here, but the fact that they are brewing German beers true to style is pretty notable. Dark golden pour with grainy, malty aroma. Taste also reflects the malt nature, cheese and cooked vegetables. Spot on!

The clear golden body is inviting, especially on this pretty warm day. It looks refreshing, though the white bubbly head on top could use some motivation.
Yup. That's what I'm looking for. Sweet, sweet bread. A little more sweet than your average bock. A drizzle of honey, and a splash of dried wild flowers.
The taste is pretty damn good. Unique a bit, but good. Following it's aroma, this is sweet honey dipped biscuits through and through, but with a nice clovey yeast spiked in there and just a hint of that floral hop finish.
The slick fluid has a bit of a carbonated tingle. It's definitely clean while having a little heft to it's body. This unquestionably favors the sweet side, and shows a bit of warmth from it's 7.0% guarantee.
Overall, I'm happy. A pretty good Maibock, and a fine brew overall. I'll probably grab a few more. Prost!

Amber in color, like a dirty penny, with creamy white head. Grainy sweetness in the aroma with a touch of fruity esters, no distinct hop aroma, but clean. More grain sweetness in the front which dries up and leaves an herbal hop flavor on the tongue with mild spiciness and a strong alcohol flavor. The body is medium and carbonation is moderate, drinks smooth. Alcohol flavor is too strong, which leaves an uncomfortable warming in the finish.
