David's Ale gives free reign to the sense of smell, as just opening the bottle provides an explosion of caramel and toffee aromas. It has very little hop character and is almost sweet. Traces of caramel, raisins, and nuts predominate.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle bought in Madrid. Light copper color with just a bit of haze. Off-white head quickly dissipates. Aromas are mostly malt, with bread, lightly roasted grain and nuttiness on the nose, along with a whiff of noble hops. Flavors are similar, with graham cracker-like malt dominating, and fresh hops at a very low level adding some complexity. Light body and dry finish with moderate carbonation. Low hops bitterness and no real alcohol presence. This is a nice amber ale, similar to an Irish Red. It is simple, but enjoyable.
