A contemporary take on the traditional sour wheat style from the German capital. Pilsner and Wheat malt are soured overnight in the kettle before being part fermented with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis. Tart, sour and refreshing with a spritzy carbonation and the added complexity of ‘Brett’ appearing as the beer ages…. as they say in these parts “it’ll make your teeth laugh”

On tap at Beer Deluxe in Melbourne.
Pours a pale yellow, somewhat hazy. Thin rim of white bubbles for head; trickle of bead. Some lace. Decent for style, but not great.
Smells tart and funky. Vinegar note with organic grass, slightly salty corporeal note. Subtle; not bad.
Taste is sour, funky. Not too acidic but a big vinegar character; touch of lemon zest and cloudy apple juice. Zesty and fresh on the finish with just a touch of lacto astringency. Superbly well balanced and very tasty.
Thin, with a characteristic pull; not too much, just develops texture. Decent.
Great to-style berliner weisse. Not too exciting but hits all the right notes. Also shared this with my wife and she probably had more of it than I did. Gets her thumbs up as well.

Got my growler filled of this and yeah I'm a growing fan of this style and this one pours a hazy light blonde hue with a nice two finger head and lacing everywhere, the smell is tart grapes,Brett, funk and white wine, the feel is light bodied with spritzy carbonation and has tastes of tart white grapes, funky Brett, sour wheat and finished with a sherbet sourness and overall yeah I'm a fan of this beer and will easily drink this growler fill cheers.
