330ml can into a conical 2/3 pint glass. Paid £2.70 for a single can.

Pours an opaque, hazy, golden-orange coloured body, with some lively carbonation observed toward the top of the glass. A thick, foamy, two-finger in height, bone-white head condenses slowly to a dense cap with excellent retention, leaving behind plenty of soapy lace.

Powerfully tart, tangy and acidic malted wheat leads the majority of the nose upfront. Less aromatic citric profiles follow, predominantly comprised of oily peels, but also some juicy flesh, while hints of spice and hop bitterness are revealed towards the back end. Taste follows suit, but with slightly less pronounced sourness overall. Tart wheat and pale grainy malts lead alongside a very faint and generic citric juiciness. Slight impressions of mandarin, tangerine or orange flesh transition quickly towards a preserved-lemon-like profile, before light citrus peel and pith bitterness builds towards the finish. In the mouth a light body and assertive spritzy carbonation give a thin but crisp and dry feel. On the end, light to moderately bitter lemon and citric peels linger, while hints of spice dry the palate.

Overall this is a decent beer. Magic Rock describe it simply as a “Smashable Wheat Beer” I’d define it somewhere in-between a Belgian Witbier and German Gose. It’s crisp, and flavourful for the low 4.5% ABV, but to my tastes much too tart and acidic to be truly enjoyable or refreshing.
