A 440ml can with a best before date of 2nd July 2021. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy orange colour with an almost two finger white head that had good retention and left lots of lacing.
Aroma: Orange, citrus zest, peach, mango, with notes of pine resin.
Taste: Tropical fruit sweetness, mango, peach, honeydew melon, lightly bitter, orange zest, citrus rind, with a lasting bittersweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Good fruit aroma and flavours, but despite there being some bitter notes, the sweetness cuts through it easily, and it was perhaps a little too sweet for me in the end.

For once, tastes just like it smells. Sabro (that’s the coconut hop) + Citra lead over Nelson + Simcoe. Surprisingly (given this hops) it’s low on mango + papaya; instead, very green. Bright but super mellow; different + accomplished.

De Decervecitas. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 5. Zumo de frutas muy equilibrado con cierta dulce maltosidad que resulta muy agradable al paladar. Abv muy bien oculto

Pours a hazy, medium amber, orange coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of sweet tropical fruit: mango, papaya, pineapple, with just a hint of white grape and biscuity malt. Taste starts out quite sweet, being dominated by light biscuity malt and juicy tropical fruit notes of mango, papaya and pineapple, but then quickly turns quite dry and bitter with additional notes of peach and white grape shining through. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and hop burn and some tropical notes lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a somewhat unconventional NEIPA that I quite enjoyed because of it. Juicy tropical notes, but also a good bitterness and strong hop burn. The rapid change between initial sweetness and dryness in the finish is quite the rollercoaster ride.
