a curious berliner with guava and basil in it, tropical and sweet from the fruit up front, herbaceous and even spicy from the thai basil on the back end, not too sour but very interesting, some other fruits in here too i think, just getting into magic rock beers for the first time now, but they seem high quality and massively ambitious and interesting. basil is such a cool ingredient, and it seems to rarely end up in sour beer, but there is a cool synergy there, especially with the lemony lacto in here, enhanced by the tropical fruit and obvious citrus. the basil is great, really natural and pungent and fresh, like the stuff from my garden, spicy and bold in here, and right at its peak in the flavor is the only time i can really appreciate any grain in here, but it does just enough there with the wheat to keep this tasting like beer. i dont mind the sweetness from the fruit because its all up front, later on it just works as a balancing thing against the acid. flavorful and interesting, they found some neat relationships with these ingredients, and this drinks summery and fun. ill be on the lookout for more magic rock beers, two for two so far in my extremely virgin experience with their stuff!
