A New England – Australia Pale Ale a using a high proportion of wheat and oats in the grist to add body and aid haze formation. Low bitterness to accentuate a soft mouthfeel and heavily dry-hopped with a blend of dank and juicy Australian hops imparting tropical fruit aromas, and filled with passion fruit, mango and orange flavour. Fermented with our house yeast WLP066 for maximum aroma and a slightly sweet finish, it’s a perfectly balanced, smooth and tasty little number.

330 ml can, as Magic Rock Murk-Life Balance Hazy Pale Ale, from Vinmonopolet Sola. ABV is 5.0%. Brewed with Australian hops, according to the brewery website. Cloudy yellow colour, moderate white head. Lovely and intense aroma of a wide range of tropical fruits, also citrus and spruce. Fairly light bodied. The flavour is more dry than sweet, moderate notes of pine needles, sprucetips and said fruits.

Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head and some minor floaters sinking to the bottom. Smells of sweet biscuity malt and tropical fruit notes of passion fruit, pineapple and papaya, as well as some herbal accents. Taste is a good balance of biscuity malt and quite sweet and juicy tropical hops, with notes of passion fruit, pineapple and papaya, as well as some pine and herbal, slightly spicy accents also coming through. Finishes with a light bitterness and some passion fruit, pineapple and herbal accents lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a rather nice NE style Pale Ale that may be a bit too sweet for my personal taste, but kinda balances that out with some bitter, herbal and spicy notes, while also featuring some rather distinct and fairly juicy tropical notes of passion fruit and pineapple, showcasing the Galaxy and Vic Secret hops nicely here.
