Combining modern Yorkshire brewing techniques with no compromise distilling. Botanicalist fuses a secret mix of eight botanicals with a clean and crisp IPA recipe to deliver a refreshingly complex beer filled with citrus notes, pine zest and a trace of sweet bitterness.

440ml can. An American-style IPA (from Yorkshire, England) flavoured with herbs and roots reminiscent of gin. The resin in the base beer is rich and bitter and highly enjoyable. The “eight botanicals”? Less so. Seems like an interesting idea but not had the time and effort put in to produce a properly balanced beer. Bit of a marketing exercise?

Bevis Maun is drinking a Botanicalist by Magic Rock Brewing at Untappd at Home

Canned in a stubbie crafty can and part of a Beer52 delivery. Pours a lemon jello coloured body with splatterings of white head. Aroma is quinine and lime. Flavour is pimms and rose water.

Can. Labelled as Gin and Tonic IPA with a mix of eight botanicals.
Almost clear straw with a thick but diminishing frothy head.
Smells of a mix of citrus, dry spicy berries (juniper?), light pine and hints of pineapple.
I taste the G+T! The astringency could almost be quinine.
Light body. Soft carbonation.
As an IPA = 3.25 as an H+S beer = 4
