This beer has left me a bit disappointed. Very good feeling with the first smell and foam tasting. Then the beer is deflated. Lack of course, strength, body and density.

Black that’s ruby purple in light with loose tan lumpy froth that fades to steady film and rings.
Brown sugar, milk chocolate, some dark roast and lactose on the nose – oatmeal chocolate chip cookies come to mind.
Oily espresso grounds, prune juice, black raspberry and branch hops.
Dried cranberry end and sweet roasty linger. Medium-light, fizzy, some chew.
Another black-flavored Catalan stout. This one is saved by the fizz, which keeps it from cloying and releases some red berry notes. On the flip side, that fizz doesn’t suit the style, especially when there’s scarce oatmeal smoothness that I can find. Milk chocolate as it warms – reminds me a bit of Goose Island Oatmeal. Opens into something sweet and pleasant but still just a bit too lively.

330ml bottle. Pint glass. Enjoyed on oct´11. Dark mahogany color, bright dark copper to the light. Beige, creamy, large bubbled crown shows fairly good retention. Toasted malt aromas, chocolate hues. Dry bitterness at first sip then sweet toasted malt flavor is developed. Medium body, medium/high carbonation. Subtle lemony in the middle resolves into astringent touch. Slightly fruity finish & rough grape zest notes. Drinkable & unexpected flavorful from a quite low ABV profile beer.

It has a black color, a light brown average head, quite compact.
The smell is quite toasted, then malt, with dusty touches.
The same notes are found in the mouth too. Quite dry.
Quite classic stout, light, but non bad.
Some oatmeal notes are perceptible.

Good Catalonian take on a oatmeal stout with a predominantly roasted bitterness.
Presentation: 33 cll brown capped bottle. Simple white label with the name of the brew and branding typography cut out.
Back offers ingredients, main characteristics, serving suggestions, and bottling date 28-10-10. Shows 5,8% Alc. by Vol. Served in a tulip glass.
A - Black pour with a rich frothy head, nice surface memory and lacing.
S - Soft nose, roasted notes, coffee and a lactic hint… weaker than the following flavor..
T - Malty notes, roasted bitterness with faint touches of cocoa and a longer coffee touch.
M - Medium to medium-light with medium carbonation and a nice bitter finish that provides a lasting presence in the palate, albeit a bit short of the smoothness expected of an oatmeal stout.
O - Nice offering, a bit too repetitive on the bitter roasted touch but worth the try.
Notes: Nothing for the ages, but again a good sign of a healthy emerging craft scene in Spain. And surely a better offering than their Marzen...
