Pours amber, small white head, fast to a lasting thick lacing, sticky too.
Smell of raisin, cake spices, toasted malts and aromatic herbs.
Taste starts with a nice citrus zing, enriched with bitter peel. Nice peach, raisin and fig too. Caramel malts provide a nice canvas for a lot of Christmassy spices, like nutmeg, licorice, faint cinnamon, even a pinch of ginger. A big herbal note from start to finish, peppery, somewhat minty, crunchy and fresh. Finishes crisp, clean, no bad notes, nice hops present.
Alcohol rather warm, but in decent limits. Medium body, but the richness somehow manages to "tire" the palate, especially when bombarded with a bit more carbonation than necessary.
Nevermind that it's summer, this winter ale packs a lot of flavour and freshness, and it's really well crafted. Did not expect this.

A: The beer is relatively clear deep amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that quickly died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a thicker collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderately strong aromas of unusual herbs are present in the nose, which I presume must be the bog myrtle and Irish moss. Hints of licorice are also perceptible.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has lots of herbal flavors, but there are also strong underlying notes of nutmeg and malts, the latter of which has a light amount of associated sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a slow sipper given all of the herbal flavors but is interesting to drink.
