Overpowering smell of peaty acetone. The armona was so awful I really considered not trying it. Unfortunately the taste was the same. Mouthfeel is a little thin with moderate to high carb levels. This beer is totally undrinkable.

A big thanks to MrKennedy for this one and thinking on a nightcap I thought this is perfect and on popping the cap you can tell straight away it's champagne yeast there is a nice pfffft pop and on pouring its a big four finger fluffy head just like a big cloud with lacing everywhere, the smell is strong peat with an undertone of fruity hops and yeah it works nicely, the mouthfeel is spritzy yet creamy and the tastes are quite sweet expected for a barleywine and the fruitcake, brown sugar cookie and peated malt tastes combine quite nicely and overall yeah it's a sipper and definately a nice night cap,an alternative to port or paired with sticky date pudding and I for one would buy it again cheers.

From Beer Cartel. No BB.
A - cloudy copper topped a three finger off-white densely packed head. Fades to film with little lace.
S - islay straightaway, tons of peat.
T - smoky peat and malt driven, with strong but not overpowering alcohol. Quite sweet, but more sweet flavours, rather than sickly sweet aftertaste. No real hop bite, so more English style less US style barley wine.
M - big, smooth, not too much alcohol tho it is most definitely there. A little tingly.
O - I love the big flavours of this beer, whilst acknowledging it is not for all. Close to bitch please by Brewdog.

Super Peated Barleywine for the 2013 edition of the anniversary release.
Cloudy golden amber colour with a big, rocky, off-white head. Great head retention.
Fruity nose with a big peaty bite. Touches of rubber but lots of citrus oil and even stone fruit.
Peat but backed up with a ton of sweetness. It's always amazing how peated malt shines more in a lower alcohol beer with less residual sugar. Solid hop fruitiness and nice rounded character.
Medium body with moderately-low carbonation. Fairly creamy.
A solid beer. I love peat so this works for me and the combo with the fruitier hops is good too.
