Pours a reddish-tinged orange colour, slow bead, nice head of dense white lace. Looks very nice.

Smells quite resiny, spicy, but with nice fruit esters. Pine, oak, citrus and some nice rye spice. Dark cereal notes and brazil nuts as well. Yum.

Taste starts out quite melony, then develops some flavour of citrus and dark spice, wood resin and loads of dry rye spice, quite bitter to the point of astringency. Actually tastes a bit boozey without feeling boozey. Nice flavours, but quite strong; not for everyday.

Nice mouthfeel; decent texture but great body.

A bit strong, but I like it.

Pours a muddy light orange with some massive floatie action. Appearance is fine and unremarkable but with a fairly rapidly receding head.

Smell is nondescript tropical fruit, asphalt, pavlova. Just has an enticing subtle fruity creamy aroma.

Taste is more of the same. Almost has a bit of smoked character at times. Perhaps a bit more hop coming through. Everything here is quite subtle but good. Definitely has a satisfying crisp bite in the finish.

Mouthfeel is quite creamy.

Good understated beer which goes down a treat in the Australian summer.

Local beers are getting better and better. I applaud HopDog for their accessible experimentation and hope they continue.

Bottled Dec 12 - from Beer Cartel

Pours a massive head. Like massive all head no beer. Hazy straw colour. Several pours required. Plenty of yeasty floaties.

Aromas quite muted... Tho rye in the mix.

Taste a different matter. Comes roaring in with rye to the fore. Ok I am lost for other adjectives here. Very integrated. Quite hoppy. Add yeast notes. Very dry finish.

Mouthfeel quite lightly carbed given volume of head.

Not sure about this one overall. Yes it's a taste explosion but not sure it's to this palate's taste. Too dry.

Pours hazy amber with a growing head.
Nose shows doughy and fruity (almost cider-like, not hop-like) notes from the yeast and also some wheat. Not particularly interesting or enticing.
Flavour aren't much of an improvement, although the rye certainly becomes apparent as a bold spicy character. The fruity cidery notes remain, not particularly pleasant, and it finishes slightly metallic with very little malt to smooth things out.
Excessively carbonated.
Starting to lose faith with this brewery, every now and again you get a great bottle, but it's anything but consistent.

Hazy golden amber colour like a decent hefeweizen but with a very poor head.

Bright tropical fruit hop aroma with some light spicy notes and bits of wheat. Some banana and vanilla. Very interesting.

Tons of fruit from both yeast and hops. Bits of malt and some touches of rye. Surprisingly light on the rye. Moderate bitterness.

Medium body with moderately-high carbonation. Good.

A nice beer. I like the hop character a lot and the wheat and rye in the background is good.
