Pours murky copper with a massive head.
Nose shows some piny and resinous hops with a fair whack of sweet malt underneath.
Hoppy flavours, more resinous pine. Also a fair bit of sweet clean malt followed by a bold bitterness and a fair bit of sharp booze.
Carbonation is way too high.

640mL Bomber. Been holding on to this for a while because I wasn't particularly fussed by it the first time round.

Mahogany amber, quite opaque with a modest beige head that falls sans lacing over a couple of minutes or so.

Nose shows decent candied citrus and tropical fruits, competing with vegetal, plasticy boozy notes. Seems teetering on the edge of a boozy abyss.

These suspicions are confirmed in the taste, with hot alcohol and harsh nail-polishy phenolics taking over. Barely lets through some toffeed strawberry and a moderate spearmint bitterness, which saves it a little.

Aside from the booze heat, it's suitably full-bodied and syrupy body for a IIPA.

Not one of HopDog's better beers. Achieves very little hop expression, and the booze is far from hidden.

Hop hazed amber colour with a smooth, off-white head. Fair head retention.

Aroma is interesting. The hop character appears to have faded and some butterscotch comes out. A little fruity. Not bad but not great.

Big hop hit up front with a resinous hop note that sings. Lots of bitterness too. The malt is there but so is some diacetyl. Damn.

Medium body with moderately-high carbonation. Okay.

Not a bad beer and certainly it shows a lot of promise. My biggest problem is the diacetyl which covers up some hop character.
