Light tan, creamy head. Really dark brown that cannot be seen through. Restrained, dark roasted barley and the slightest bit of woodiness, makes up the aroma. Moderate amount of off-dry, dark roasted grains, with a touch of wood, for the taste.

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery. This is their base stout brewed with a ton of Montmorency cherries.
Appearance: rich dark brown hue with a thick head of creamy tan foam. Great.
Smell: yeasty, lightly roasty aroma. It is OK, but the good undertone of cherry saves it a little.
Taste: roasty and somewhat dry and astringent with a bit of that yeasty character from the aroma. The cherry is subtle but adds another dimension to this beer that really works.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I like almost any cherry beer, so this really hits the spot for me.
