The beer pours a cloudy gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a light pale and wheat malt scent along with a nice banana/clove yeast aroma. There is also a bit of lemon zest in there as well. The taste is good. It has a refreshingly light and fruity taste. It's quite yeasty in a good way. The mouthfeel is great! It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a tastey brew. It's looks picture perfect and drinks well. Nice job.

Reviewed on 3/8/09. On tap at the brewpub. Pours an almost neon-yellow with a small white head. Aroma of clove, wheat, and a touch of skunk. Flavor of clove, wheat, and banana. Your typical hefe, there was nothing that stood out about this beer.

Poured a cloudy copper hue with a three finger foamy head. There was excellent retention and lacing.
The smell was a bit sulfury, with a hint of clove spiciness. I was looking for banana but didn't find any.
The taste was very nice. Yeasty, wheaty and spicy. Slight vanilla element. Luckily, the sulfur did not translate to the taste.
A nice wheaty mouthfeel. Excellent carbonation.
Overall a nice example of the style. The brewpub freshness was much appreciated and not lost on me. This would have been a much better example had the aroma been a little more true to form. The sulfur really affected my enjoyment.

So far my #1 pick at Black Haus.
Pours deep cloudy orange with full creamy head of a few fingers. Good lacing. Smells of yeasts, wheat, banana and cloves. Strong nose. Strong banana, melon and cloves in the taste, weak yeasts. The flavors are bold and pronounced, very good! Goes down smooth as well.
