On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, orange peel, and light fruits. Flavor of sweat, hoppy bitterness, and a spicy kick. This is full bodied, crisp, and very drinkable. I enjoyed this one a lot. Quite a nice imperial pilsener.

Growler filled fresh from the bar at Black Forest Brew Haus in Farmingdale, NY on 5/23/09 after watching the USAF Thunderbirds do a practice run of the Jones Beach Air Show at Republic Airport which is just down the road.

Hazy copper color with a fluffy white head that remained as a layer and left spots of lacing on my pilsner glass.
The smell is that of a true German Pilsener Bier, excellent aroma.
Tastes like a German Pilsener most of the way through, until the bitter hoppy finish. It's pretty darn good.
Medium bodied with some heaviness to it but it's good and drinkable.
Prost!

The beer pours a nice gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a solid pilsner malt scent along with a crisp hop aroma. The hops really stand out. The taste is average. It has a very dry and bitter flavor that is quite overbearing. The malt base doesn't provide enough balance. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This beer needs to scale back on the hops. I believe they're using Chinook for the bittering. It's too big on the grapefruit character.

Poured a medium straw hue with a two finger froathy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a solid biscuity malt, some malt sweetness and a good dose of noble hops.

The taste consisted of a grainy doughy malt and a light spicy hop. A gentle nuttiness detected as well. Good biscuity finish.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller and chewier side for the style with a dry finish.

Overall a very good offering. A very user friendly high ABV pils.
