Fresh growler fill from the Black Forest Brew Haus on 6/7/09 served in a standard pint glass.
Hazy orange/amber color with a thick off-white head that left sheets of sticky lacing behind.
Citrus rind aroma, only a hint of malt is detected as the beer warms up some.
Sharp bitter bite upfront balanced out with sweet malty flavors before finishing up dry and bitter.
Medium bodied with a creamy smoothness, that plus the good taste make this a good, easy drinking IPA.
Note: The look, smell and taste of this beer reminds me a lot of a fresh Two Hearted Ale and that's not a bad thing at all.

Poured a medium hazy copper hue with a two finger foamy white head. There was good retention and good sticky lacing.
The smell featured pine and citrus hop resins and a secondary doughiness.
The taste consisted of an upfront spicy, piney and herbal hop - maybe some nugget. There was a solid biscuity malt as well.
The mouthfeel was a bit toward the thinner side of the style, but in a good way.
Overall a tatsy and easy drinking ale, despite the relatively robust ABV.
