Appearance: Dark brown body with a red hue. Lively caramel color head. Lots of lace.
Nose: roasted nuts, molassas, smoke. Light hops. maybe some light raisin/plum. Malty overall with a unique smokey complexity.
Taste: black and chocolate malt backbone. Mellow, sweet aftertaste followed by a light smokiness and subtle hops. Very nice. Enough flavors to produce a good complexity, but not overpowering at all. This is a nice mellow, easy drinking, smooth porter.

Appearance: dark brown body, reddish at the bottom, and showing a thick lush cocoa-colored head.
Nose is soft and creamy, slightly toasty, but stops there. A nutty flavor peeks out later on.
On first sip, minimal hops, and thick, lush. rich roasty malt.
Medium body, just-so texture, with a contiual, ringing nutty flavor. Sweet and tasty, with a mild fruity character interjected, and the end of the beer dominated by coffee aspects.
Very well enjoyed, though I ashamedly admit confusion during consumption. This was reviewed from an unmarked growler, courtesy of Stegmakk, and I was fooled by the nut I tasted and thought it was either a rich brown ale or a mild stout, but I didn't think "porter." Still, despite my befuddlement, a nice beer.
