A - Nice solid black body, even in a thin sampler glass. Low grey white head didn't get much of a chance to shine since the bartender poured it to the brim.
S - Nice dry coffee and burnt toast nose. The description on the menu says there's some dark fruits deep in the nose, but I didn't pick much up. I think the beer is better for it actually; I really like clean roast notes that are there.
T - Similar to the nose, there's a great dry roast character to the flavor profile. Burnt grains, dry toast, coffee grinds, and a touch of dark caramel.
S - Shade light, but it's not not bad. It seems to work with the dry finish.
O - This beer leaves an impression that's greater than the sum of its parts. I really enjoyed the clean, dry, and bold profile.
