Good amber ale with a nice push in the hop profile.
Presentation: 33 cl brown capped bottle. Black background label with the name of the brew and four quadrants illustrated with highlights of the brewing process. Side notes general ingredients, main characteristics, serving suggestions, and best by date 06/2012. Shows 4% Alc. by Vol. Served in a tulip glass.
A - Hazy deep amber pour with a short lived frothy head, good surface memory and moderate lacing.
S - Soft nose, roasted note, caramel and biscuity malt with a citric touch of hops...
T - Taste follows with a nicely hopped malty profile, nothing too aggressive or remarkable but pleasing. Plenty of caramel, burnt sugar in the finish, and accenting the malt a good hoppy touch, citric with a nice bitter note.
M - Medium to medium/light body and carbonation with a nice lingering finish.
O - Quite a good offering from the Basque Country, quaffable and quality without much pretense.
Notes: Again this is nothing for the ages, but instead of other bland and mediocre craft offerings this one is starting to represent a nice quality bracket.
