App: Very deep, almost black/mahogany in color. Not quite opaque. Thick head that dissipates relatively quickly leaving a small ring around the glass. Leaves minimal lacing.
Smell: Heavy, sweet, chocolate and coffee overtones. Definite caramel aroma. No detectable hops.
Taste: Caramel smokiness, with a woodiness lingering in the back ground. Lingering notes of bitterness. Nothing particularly remarkable.
Mouth: Kind of light and effervescent for a porter. Not as syrupy as I was expecting.
