From a bottle, this one pours a soft opaque straw color with a nice head and lacing that sticks to the glass all the way to the bottom of the glass. At first glance I thought 'oh no, they ruined it' but after a sniff and taste, I found that it is an extremely good beer. I got this one from a variety pack, can't find a straight up 6 or 12 pack, would buy this one and keep it stocked in my fridge all the time if I could.

Clear golden color with a medium-sized white head. Nice lace. The aroma is nutty, earthy, and has a bit of spicy hop aroma. The taste is crisp, with some rye and hop notes. A bit of citrus....grapefruit and peel. Flavorful and full in body.

Review from notes, consumed as a part of Old Chicago's winter tour.
Pours a pale yellow with a small head though decent lacing. Aroma is light with some lemon grass, malt. Taste.. It doesn't have a lot of complexity bringing a citrus pithy flavor and subtle earthy character, it's mild to moderately bitter. Medium body that isn't creamy. Overall this is a lighter IPA with just okay flavor.

On tap at Albertsons. Medium golden body with small creamy head, which leaves rings of lacing on the glass. Not getting the usual funky rye sourness, comes across as a pretty good IPA, but the rye is definitely lurking in there. Taste does finish with a little spiciness and bite. Overall mouth feel is nice, kind of chewy, and slick. On the surface, straight up IPA, but dig a little deeper to find some sublime subtleties.

Best before date of 12/30/15
Appearance - Pours hazy and straw yellow in color with an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Lacing is streaky with small spots.
Smell - Rye / black pepper spice is prominent, with lesser notes of bready malt and a hint of citrus.
Taste - Follows the nose. Peppery rye flavor is met by a solid bready maltiness. A bit of pine and some leafiness is in there somewhere. Light orange and grapefruit character sneaks in mid-taste and leaves a mildly bitter, pithy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. Smooth, slick texture makes it an easy drinker, then a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Decent 'RyePA'. Wish I could have had a fresher bottle, but the hops seemed to have held up decent enough. Not a bad addition to a mix pack at all.

yellow gold. quite clear. foamy like the rest of the odell lineup.
floral aroma with a hint of bread. taste is more pine than citrus, with more of the bread, and a little spiciness from the rye. finishes with a bit of pear.
clean, crisp, and easily consumed. a good ipa.
