Pours pitch black. 1 finger frothy white head. Decent retention. Some lacing on the glass.
The nose is fairy minimal. Just a slight chocolate hint.
Taste - a lot more hops than I expected. It has a bitter hop finish. There's some vanilla I taste. Some chocolate.
The body is lighter than expected, but not too watery.
Not a bad beer, but it could have been better.

Tasted bland for the name. Smell did not carry over unfortunately as that was the strong point with this beer. It tasted watered down. Miniscule hops to be found here which can be pleasant on occasion. Overall, I probably wouldnt buy this again unless it was the only malty option available.

strong brown ale with vanilla beans, this is a killer beer, really unique and well done. pours silky smooth, dark like a porter, and with almost an inch of lazy but lasting dark brown head. the nose here isnt too much vanilla, but its there, and the layers of dark malt are impressive. dark chocolate, instant coffee, and like an almond butter or something, nutty and sweet. hints of molasses and burnt roasted barley too, deep for something called a brown ale to say the least. plenty of chocolate up front in the flavor, mostly from the malt i would think, and a huge silky smoothness and feathery soft body, must be some oats at work here. the vanilla is authentic but not overly sugary, which i think helps this drink a little easier. some lighter alcohol as it finishes, but not a distraction in the least. i dont necessarily the the cookies and ice cream thing, but i think the beer is unique and effective and delicious. on tap way up in spearfish south dakota, i havent seen this one in colorado yet, but i hope it comes around. lovely brew right here.

Pours extremely dark brown with a small head of tan foam.
Smell is of chocolate, vanilla, kinda but not too sweet.
Tastes like it smells and does taste like a cookie. Nice for 1 glass worth.
