On tap at The Happy Gnome in St. Paul. Served in a 16 oz. shaker.
Appearance: Color is amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.
Smell: A ripe and juicy hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus fruit and rye. Upfront citra hop scent of grapefruit, mango, orange peel, melon, tangerine, lemon, and pineapple. Some grassy and piney hop hints. Malt hints of rye, caramel, grains, and cracker with some yeast. A very solid aroma.
Taste: Like the aroma, a nicely ripe and juicy hop driven taste with notes of citrus fruit and rye malt. Juicy citra hop notes of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, tangerine, melon, lemon, and pineapple. Also some pine and grassy hop flavor. Backing malt notes of rye spice, caramel, grains, and cracker with yeast. A pretty nice taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish.
Overall: A very good Single Hop IPA. Big citrus fruit flavor with a nice touch of rye.
