I had this a Belgian Pale Ale brewed with peaches and cardamom and aged on American oak on tap at the Pig & Fiddle.
L: pours brilliant amber with a thin white foam cap that quickly recedes to a thick film while streams of rapidly rising bubbles flow up from the bottom.
S: traces of banana from the yeast, the added peach, a hint of cardamom, light grains from the malts and a whisper of vanilla from the oak.
T: Peach and banana introduce the palate over a light bread crumb malt backbone. The vanilla and cardamom are more in the background. The palate is complex and layered but balanced. The malt flavors are medium low, the hop bitterness and flavor is medium low, the yeast flavors are medium to medium high as is the added peach flavor. The oak and cardamom flavors are medium low.
F: medium body and medium low carbonation.
O: This is a very satisfying, full flavored beer, with moderate alcohol.
