Review. Okay. I really don't like how they FAILED to mention that the fruity taste is from Hops. They talk about Malt and Caramel which are two tastes I love in my Porters and Stouts. Tropical fruit should be changed to Strong Grapefruit Flavor drowning everything else out. Tropical fruit indeed.

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead 3-1-18 for $1.99. Best by 4-19-18; stored in the fridge since purchase.
Beer poured brown with a soap bubble tan head that had some good hang time.
Nose was of toasted malts and fruity hops.
Taste was a combination of toasted and roasted malts, some chocolate, with a grapefruit and floral hop finish that was slightly bitter.
Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and refreshing.
Overall a nice departure from the usual IPA formula. Definitely a go to for a change of pase.

Chocolate brown with creamy tan; orange brownie, carob, orange oil, and grassy end. Long orange oil linger. Maybe a hint of ash?

Lots of brown malts, and some very US hops. Muted all around, though, especially at 6.5%. I’ve had better.

12oz bottle, thick & foamy tan colored head slowly fades atop a brown ale with red hues when held to light; great head retention, great lacing! Nutty grain, caramel, earthy hops, and a touch of fruitiness for aroma. Nice blend of malt and hop for flavor with notes of nutty and caramely grain, brown sugar, faint chocolate, fruity citrus, and earthy & herbal hops. Medium body, ample carbonation, finishing balanced and moderately bitter. It's been awhile since I had a brown ale. This was good!

Poured from 12oz bottle into glass. Label has enjoy by date as '4/14/18'.
Clear, deep amber colored body. Thick light tan head. Webs of lacing left behind.
Chocolate and caramel malt aromas with hops.
Chocolate and caramel flavors with light air of floral hops. Has an additional black licorice flavor, also a little peat.
Medium mouth feel, with very light feel due to the hops.
A mélange of flavors but not totally balanced. Quite a ways from a traditional brown ale, but the label does tell of the "complex tropical fruit notes".
As others have stated, this is closer to a black IPA, but Odell has made a beer here that is easy to drink but still somewhat disjointed.

12 oz bottle. Pours reddish amber brown with a big fluffy light tan head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet cola malts and some peaty black licorice.
The flavor is sweet leathery caramel malt with a roast finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I didn't really care for this.
