i like this because its an ipa before its a fruit beer or a milkshake thing or anything else. its rightly hoppy, finishes bitter, and has great hop flavor through the whole thing. the fruit and whatever else is in here is all in service of the hops, its not forced or overdone, and i am stoked at the quality of the hoppy stuff coming out of the denver odell brewery, although its really no surprise. there is a nice natural peach middle to this which works for two reasons. one, its super compatible with the fruity hops in here, and balances some of the bitterness from them, almost like its part of the hop profile, really well done there. two, its very natural and ripe, real fruit for sure, no sweetness or fake elements at all, which can totally kill a beer like this. furthermore, whatever vanilla or milk sugar or whatever us used for the "cream" part of this, is subtle, not overdone at all, and it stays well out of the way, which i appreciate for once in one of these. it could use just a tad more carbonation for me, i almost always fruit beers to feel very lively, and this one is about average there. overall though a really nice brew, not a gimmick at all, and another reason to go check this place out if you havent yet...
