awesome ipa right here, featuring a new hop called sabro, and this is the first time that i am aware i am trying it, what a distinctive varietal. i think this beer does an awesome job introducing it to our palates, i am sure that we will all be seeing a whole lot more of sabro moving forward if this is what its all about. to me, it most closely resembles sorachi ace, there is a decidedly dill herbaceous thing to it, right from the garden, fresh and botanical without being citrusy at all, but oily and slick and well suited to a simple and clean ipa like this, it really stands out! i get like lemon custard not the citrus of an actual lemon, desserty even, almost rich for a moment, nice with minimal grain base here. verbena, honeysuckle, lime leaf, some really cool nuances here, all from the hops. id love to see this in a more aggressively dry hopped situation, but as an introduction to the flavor profile of sabro, they have certainly piqued my interest. this is exactly the sort of thing i was hoping for when i went in here, and from the denver odell brewery in general, keep it up!
