On tap at trinity
Pours chestnut with a finger of tan head. Average head retention & lacing
S: Oaky & Bacon smokiness, & a touch of caramel
T: Bacon & ham smokiness, a touch of grainyness & caramel up front. More restrained, smokiness & dry as this warms. Finishes with a slight toffee edge & very mellow smokiness
MF: Light/medium bodied with restrained carbonation
Drank alright not enough body or depth of flavor to to get too excited about, I could do few pints before moving on, I expected more from Odell

Served on tap at the brewery. This beer gets it's smoke character from having 30% beechwood smoked malt imported from Bamberg, Germany.
The color is a beautiful golden red amber with perfect clarity. Not much head remaining on this one even right after the pour.
The aroma has a mild smokiness to it but it's not over powering.
The smoke is certainly more pronounced in the flavor but it's pleasant and not over the top. Overall it's sweet and smokey, not that bitter.
Mouthfeel is good, well carbonated. Drinkability is alright but just the fact that it's a rauchbier means I probably wouldn't want to drink more than one. The smoke is enjoyable but just in limited quantities.
